The Belfast Botanic Gardens, in the University area of Belfast, were created in the early 1800s and have been one of Belfast's most popular landscaped gardens ever since. Close to the Ulster Museum, the Belfast Botanic Gardens contain many impressive attractions, including an imposing Victorian Palm House, filled with exotic plants and important Belfast plant collections. Other highlights at Belfast's Botanic Gardens include ponds, giant water lillies, a 'Tropical Ravine', a raised walkway, a cool house dating back to 1840 and numerous scenic picnic spots.

Belfast's Sir Thomas and Lady Dixon Park is situated in the south of Belfast and covers a vast area. Attractions at Belfast's Sir Thomas and Lady Dixon Park include the famous Rose Garden, which contains an enormous collection of traditional roses, featuring more than a quarter of a million summer blooms and important Belfast rose trials, and landscaped themed-gardens.

The Belfast Tropical Ravine House, previously known simply as 'The Glen', is located in the University area of Belfast, in the grounds of Belfast's impressive Botanic Gardens. Full of exotic plants, large ferns, citrus trees, enormous bamboos, numerous colourful flowers, trailing plants, pathways, and many important collections of plants, the Victorian-style Belfast Tropical Ravine House is more than 100 years old and is a popular Belfast attraction in its own right.
